Welcome to the 2008-2009
School Year at Bland Middle School!
November 2008
2nd
Quarter has started and we are racing toward Thanksgiving Break. The
year has really flown by.
Parent Teacher
Conferences are over and we had 70% of parents attend. That is
wonderful! It is really important we work together to help our
students succeed. Special thanks go to all the parents and
grandparents that attended.
The last girls’
home basketball game will be held on November 7, 2008.
That will be
Parent’s Night for the 7th & 8th grade players. We
look forward to honoring our girls’ basketball players’
parents and hope to see many of you there.
Attendance is
an important part of your child’s education. Good attendance is
encouraged. In order to help promote good attendance, any student
that has 97% attendance or better in 2nd quarter will have
their name put in a drawing. We have two $50 gift certificates we
will give away at the end of 2nd quarter.
Mid-quarter
will be on November 20. You can look forward to mid-terms going
home a few days after that.
The Middle
School Turkey Trot will be held on November 25 and that will be our
last day of school before Thanksgiving Break. The Break will be
November 26-November 30. We will return to school on December 1.
Parent and community
involvement is important to the success of the students. If you have
comments, questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact
