Bonnie Yates

The Maries County R-II School District has announced the hiring of Bonnie Yates as Belle High School's Library Media Specialist for the 2022-2023 school year.

Ms. Yates began her teaching career in the Marshall Public School District back in 2010 teaching a combination of Business and Math courses. She found her way into the private sector for a bit of time before returning to education in 2016. At that time, she was hired as the Library Media Specialist in the North Daviess School District. She has been in that role the last six school years. This will be her ninth year in education. Ms. Yates earned her associates in general studies from Enterprise State Junior College in 1988. She earned her bachelors degree from University Missouri-Rolla in 2006. She finished her Master's in instructional technology and business education from Northwest Missouri State University in 2012.

In her free time, Bonnie loves to spend time with her two sons, family, and their two dogs. She also enjoys reading, knitting, gardening, hiking, and pretty much anything outdoors.

When asked about joining Maries R-II Bonnie commented, "I’m excited about the value Maries Co. R-II places on their students and staff which is clearly visible in how they take care of the school and what they offer both their students and staff. I have friends who work for the school district and can’t sing their praise enough. I’m excited about being given the opportunity to work for such a great school and I’m looking forward to the beginning of the school year."

Welcome Bonnie to Maries County R-II!
