Joyce Medlok

The Maries County R-II School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Joyce Medlock as the Root ED college and career advisor for the 2022-2023 School Year. This is a new position to BHS and schools across the state. The primary responsibility of this position will be to counsel students to ensure they have post-secondary plans whether that be going to college or beginning a career. Mrs. Medlock will work to ensure each and every graduate is successful post-high school.

Mrs. Medlock is joining Maries County R-II after already retiring from a career in education. Joyce began her career in education teaching Computerized Medical Office at the Rolla Technical Institute (RTI). After completing her Master's Degree in school counseling, she then became a Vocational Resource Educator (VRE) at RTI. She also during her career worked at the learning center after hours working with students in credit recovery to help get them to graduation.

When she is not working, Mrs. Medlock enjoys gardening and canning, but above all else spending time with her family.

When asked about joining Maries R-II Joyce stated, "I am excited to join Maries R-2 and work with the students on their post-secondary goals.  We have great students and I look forward to work with all of them."

Welcome aboard Mrs. Joyce Medlock!
